Decription of Project
For our coordinating organisation Trendum we are looking for two volunteers for the project EVS – Challenge accepted, that will be held in the Czech Republic in Ostrava. Volunteers will be working in NGO and they will be involved in all activities we do. Volunteers will help with organising activities for our local community, with preparing and organising international projects for young people and youth workers, they will help with promotion of our activities and they will also prepare activities for kids in primary school we cooperate with. Volunteers will have many opportunities to realise their own activities and miniprojects. They will also help with preparing some activities for our local catholic church parish that we are in very close cooperation with, so we expect volunteers who have positive attitude to Christianity. We will give them opportunity to learn, what does it mean to work in NGO, how to work with different target groups, how to organise projects and many others.
Accommodation, meals and road arrangements
Volunteers will be accommodated in dormitories, together with other volunteers from other organisations we coordinate just now. Everyone of them will have their own room with standard equipment.
Every month they will get pocket money as well as money for their food. They can go for daily menu to the restaurants, or they can just cook for themselves and heat it in our organisation.
Volunteers will have travelling card for Ostrava transport. All necessary cost connected to project activities will be covered as well.
Training during the project
In the beginning of the project volunteers will have a training course about EVS, about life in the Czech Republic, and they will also learn basic words in Czech language. During the project volunteers will participate in training course organised by Czech National Agency. They will also have training course about project management.
Volunteers will have Czech lessons twice a week.
We are looking for young people who are open to learn new things. We don’t expect any specific knowledge or skills. Our organisation is based on Christianity and some activities will be connected to local catholic church, so we expect positive attitude to Christianity. Volunteers will also work with children and young people, so positive attitude to these target groups is expected as well.
